How Afrika Safari got a handle on multilingual content and SEO with Deeplify

For a content-rich website such as afrikasafari.nl, multilingualism is essential for international growth. Project question

Afrika Safari wanted to expand internationally with their website, but ran into difficulties with multilingualism within their WordPress Multisite. The site contains a lot of content and is regularly updated, which meant that manual translation was becoming increasingly time-consuming and error-prone. Updates in the source language were not consistently translated, SEO fields became fragmented, and the pressure on the content team increased. The central question was: how can we add new languages without multilingualism slowing down the platform or the team?

Our solution

For Afrika Safari.nl, we developed Deeplify: a custom translation solution that seamlessly integrates DeepL AI with WordPress Multisite. Instead of separate translation processes, the team now works from a single central source site. Content is automatically cloned to other language sites and translated immediately, while retaining structure, relationships, and SEO settings. Deeplify acts as a translation layer on top of the existing platform, without requiring major changes to the multisite structure.

Technology & services

Deeplify is specifically designed for content-rich WordPress Multisites. The solution not only translates pages and cases, but also includes menus, forms, custom fields, and SEO fields. Integrations with DeepL AI, Yoast SEO, and custom WordPress components, among others, ensure that every language version is technically and contextually accurate.

The translation process runs securely and in batches in the background, ensuring that the website remains performant and editors have the freedom to fine-tune texts where necessary.
